TfNSW’s urban design approach for road and maritime projects is set down in Beyond the Pavement. The document refreshes the approach and work from previous Beyond the Pavement editions, re-enforcing good design outcomes and an integrated approach to our transport infrastructure.
Beyond the Pavement provides guidance on urban design approaches and lays out the design principles, methods, values, and broad objectives for projects. An urban design approach should be adopted on all road and maritime infrastructure-related work that affects the quality of the built, natural and community environment, as set out in this document.
