Where possible, provide dedicated paths that separate walking and cycling from motor vehicles.
Along the Gore Hill Freeway, separate paths for walking and cycling deviate more or less from the motor vehicle lanes depending on the topography. Where space is constrained walking and cycling is closer to vehicle lanes, but where space is available, the routes diverge so walkers and riders can take advantage of adjacent bushland, shade and better air quality.
