Separate modes longitudally, in separate corridors where necessary, to connect paths more directly to nearby centres and existing networks, and so through-movement is attractive for all desired modes.
A parallel section of shared path has been created at the Northern Road near Harrington Park, bringing walkers and cyclists travelling between Oran Park and Narellan closer to recreation areas and residential catchments. The path connects more distant regional facilities such as the Narellan Town centre with existing paths and facilities in the suburb of Harrington Grove, encouraging residents to choose to commute by cycle. The cycle route has better grades and is more pleasant than travelling alongside vehicular traffic.
