Away from built-up areas, if appropriate and in consultation with local Indigenous knowledge-holders, acknowledge interactions between road corridors and songlines.
During a project to upgrade road safety, TfNSW learnt that parts of the Golden Highway corridor intersect and traverse songlines. With help from Aboriginal knowledge-holders, we were able to use local knowledge about connections to cultural sites and ancient travel routes to inform site-specific investigations for the upgrade projects.
