Prioritise pedestrian and cycling crossing by requiring all vehicles to give way, in accordance with Road Rule 71.
Benefits
- Provides people of all ages and abilities with a safe and comfortable crossing
- When raised, can reduce the speed of vehicles on approach to the crossing and can support wider speed reduction measures.
Considerations
- Can only be installed on a two lane street with a speed limit of 50 km/h or less
- While AS 1742.10 nominates yellow pavement markings, Transport recommends green and zebra markings for consistency with current NSW practice.
