Urban centres are the relatively dense, diverse, and vibrant core neighbourhoods of cities and towns throughout NSW. The intensity of built form creates clearer definition of the streets as linear spaces. On the streets, there is often an intensity of staying activities, walking, cycling, public transport, and freight. In these contexts, place qualities must often be prioritised, and movement of vehicles reduced in volume, speed, and vehicle size to create safer and more inviting spaces for people.
